Instructor Development Course

Course duration 7 days

The IDC is the full Instructor course and includes the Assistant Instructor (AI) qualification.  There is a mixture of classroom, confined water and open water work.  Get ready to start teaching, this course gets you on the road to being a fully qualified SCUBA Instructor.  On successful completion of this course you will then be qualified to attend the final PADI Instructor Examination (IE).

Over a minimum seven days, our IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organise and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. Key topics include:

  • PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops
  • Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
  • Risk Management and Diver Safety
  • The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
  • Marketing Diving and Sales Counselling

Master SCUBA Diver Trainer

On succesful completion of the PADI IE the nest step is to become an MSDT. This is the next level of instructor and qualifies you to teach a range of speciality courses.

Specialty Instructor

PADI Master Instructors are recognized as elite scuba diving educators who, through dedication and hard work, have proven to be dive industry leaders.
